Connecting the Atlantian Myths
  • Plato's Atlantis tradition is the most important tradition, but not the only tradition; and these other traditions also relate to Egyptian History and to each other.
  • These papers identify Aahotep 2 as Io and Ahmose Sipair as Serapis(Osarsiph of Manetho). Plato calls them Ge and Hephaestus.
  • Hellanicus(pre-plato) mentions Pleiades, or daughters of Atlas. These Pleiades were also Danaids(Daughters of Danaus).
  • Diodorus(post-plato) mentions the Myrina Myth and Cerne. This is Thutmose IV's Syrian Campaign and the peace treaty with the Mitanni. Cerne also appears in Aeschylus Prometheus Bound(pre-Plato) as Karne (modern Tartus, Syria); this is the Hyksos capital Saruhen.
  • Plato mentions a Phaethon Myth during the Atlantis story, and this myth is about King Tut and the Amarna Period.
Highlights
  • Avaris is explicity called Atlantia by Pliny; Gadeira is Rakotis(theophoric or same letters). Aahotep 2 was "mistress of the Haunebu", and according to Aeschylus, founded a colony in Canopus(same letters as Haunebu). Canopus has an island, and multiple circular ports within a circular lake.
Note: Aeschylus calls the city of Danaus, Karbanis(same location).
  • Plato calls one of the Atlantian Kings Ampheres; Manetho calls him Mephres; This is Thutmose I, identifying one of the Atlantian Kings an Egyptian Pharoah.
  • We get a little conflation between the [Syrian] Hyksos, ie unnamed bad guys, and the Atlantians or Greco-Egyptians(Descendants of Io, like the Pharaoh Thutmose I in Gen 2, or the mythical Atlantia marries Danaus in gen 5), who later moved into the same royal city of Avaris(Aethyria).
  • The 9000 Years is the mythical timeframe for Ptah, and not Atlantis. The war cannot occur before the Goddess Ge, only 1000 years prior, gives the weapons. Serapis is also linked to Ptah, and he lives at the same time as Io; so the 9000 sneaks into Plato's myth from the Egyptian Priest, and his mixing of the Ptah's.
Additional Notes - Exploring the Dualities of Atlantis
  • The flashback from Amasis to Amosis.
  • The conflation of Atlantians with Hyksos.
  • The two Egyptian priests.
  • The two cities of Atlantis and Gadeira.
  • Danaus(Tanaja) vs Egyptus(Keftiu) mythology in Libya and Arabia (same nomes as cities above).
  • Two names for Avaris (Aethyria vs Atlantia)
  • Two goddesses (Ge-Aahotep2), and Libyan Athena(Hatshepsut).
  • Two Aahoteps (mother of Ahmose and his daughter-in-law)
  • Two greek queens (Amasis married a greek woman, Ladice) vs The Greek Aahotep2 marrying the son of Ahmose.
  • Two Ptah's, Original(~9600BC) vs Serapis(1560BC).
  • Two Aeolus's, Son of Hellen(Gen 4 - 1458-1435BC)(father of Atlantia?), Aeolus 2 - king of Aeolian Islands in Tyrrhenian Sea (Gen 7 - 1389-1366BC)(Amarna Period)
